SVOFFICE™5/WR integrates the front-end of our acclaimed numerical analysis software with the powerful FEHM Control Volume Finite Element solution engine. Users can leverage SVFLUX™WR capabilities such as double porosity / double permeability to simulate realistic and detailed analyses such as fracture flow. SVFLUX WR

Designed for hydrogeologists who want to perform large-scale saturated/unsaturated regional flow modeling.

The Challenge
Modeling the groundwater flow over large regions can be challenging due to the complexity of the represented geometry as well as the potential presence of thin flow layers or aquifers. The extensive 3D models may also be influenced by various pumping wells.

The Solution
SVFLUX™WR offer solutions for regional groundwater flow considering thin layers, pinchout of geo-strata as well as the modeling of pumping wells, rivers, and tunnels.

The SVHEAT™WR software package is a market-leading geothermal analysis package which offers both 2D and 3D analysis.

The Challenge
Heat exchange wells or borehole thermal extraction systems (BTES) may be used to store heat under the ground in aquifers.

The Solution
SVFLUX™WR & SVHEAT™WR may be coupled to provide 2D or 3D solutions for the modeling of heat flux wells or BTES. Conductive and convective heat flow can be modeled. Automatic mesh refinement can be utilized in order to improve solution accuracy.

Meshing Matters

Produce even higher quality meshes with fewer nodes in a faster, more accurate and more reliable manner with our completely redesigned 3D tetrahedral meshing algorithm. Utilizing SVDESIGNER (our 3D modeling, geometry manipulation and visualization module) the user can transfer surfaces meshes into our other SVOFFICE5 modules to produce larger and more complicated 3D tetrahedral meshes than ever before.


Major improvements to 3D meshing include:

  • As many as 5 times less nodes per model on average
  • Reliably insert plot points or nodes for rivers, anchors, wells, tunnels without failure
  • Highly optimized element shapes with proper design
  • Improved geometric accuracy near region boundaries or with surface grids
  • NEW - Tools to automatically repair small gaps between Surfaces and Regions
