Nuclear applications often involve the calculation of decay of isotopes in the ground as a result of disposal of nuclear waste. The calculations involve coupling of multiple processes of groundwater flow, diffusion, advection, and decay.

The SVOFFICE™ Solution

SVOFFICE™5/WR utilizes the FEHM solver which was developed over many years at Los Alamos National Labs (LANL) for the purpose of calculations surrounding disposal of nuclear waste. The solver can provide solutions for complex non-isothermal situations with complex coupling mechanisms and is ideally suited for the nuclear industry.

    Reactor foundation design is particularly sensitive to any deformations. Tolerances are tight and numerical modeling of expected foundation deformations must be precise.

    SVSOLID™ allows advanced numerical modeling of foundations on sands, silts, and clays. Elasto-plastic or cam-clay type of complex constitutive models may be used to represent soils in 2D or 3D models.
